Interesting News
Some interesting items in the news:
Apparently, Pluto is no longer a planet. This decision was reached 70 years after discovering Pluto. It may seem like a long time to determine this information, but give the scientists a break -- there are 8 other planets they have to keep track of.
This one is a little bit late, but the first lesbians that got married legally in Massachusetts have separated. They made it about two years, but I guess there isn't much room to criticize since so many hetero marriages don't make it that long. I'll just say that it is interesting -- and I'll leave it to the many others who have things to say about it.

Conforming to Independence
I picked up one of those alternative newspapers at a coffee shop yesterday and read an article about how big, bushy beards are very hip in the indie scene right now. But, of course, to be hip, your beard must look correct. The article contained a sidebar with the dos and don'ts of the indie beard. Nothing better than an article that tells its audience: "In order to show your individuality, you must look exactly like this. In order to be independent, conform your style to a set standard." You have to admit, that is pretty funny.
